A shot of the glass and steel canopy covering Kogod Courtyard at the National Portrait Gallery.
KINDA' SORTA' FAMOUS?: I am happy to inform you that my shot of the glass canopy of Kogod Courtyard was featured as a banner for the blog of the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery called Face to Face.

@lidia: Thanks! This is where a wide angle lens would have been most helpful. =D

This is a beautiful shot. As I sat here looking at it, it began to take on a three-dimensional quality to it. If you look at the squares of glass just below the arc that crosses the center of the shot they begin to jut out at you (as do the ones just above the arc). This obviously has to do with the lighter shadows in the squares in the center swath of the image. Anyway...really a great shot!

@danthro: Thanks very much Danthro! And now for my next trick ... =D
Interesting how the light forms a sort of spike coming in from the right side.
Congratulations on the facetoface spotlight. (I recently had one of my old flickr shots get noticed by schmap. Why is no one monitoring our aminus3 stuff?)

@Doug: Thanks very much Doug! And congrats to you as well on your Schmap selection. I believe people are checking out Aminus3 stuff but not in great numbers as those on Flickr. Flickr has been around longer, is supported by Yahoo, and working with the Smithsonian and Library of Congress only legitimates their site further, thereby making photographic collaborations and social networking sites a great partnership. I think Aminus3 has the same potential -- like any other photographic community -- but I think it depends on what the community wants to do and is willing to participate in other than sharing their photos. Like any virtual community, its vitality is dependent upon what the members contribute.
A very pleasing pattern and excellent lighting. Well seen. Congratulations again!
