Zoomin'

Grabbed my camera when I saw the firetruck pull up to the apartment building across from me. I decided to play around with the exposure setting and manually zooming out from the truck, thus the close up ghosts of the truck and the building.

12/24/08: Grading is done. I'm packed and ready to go. I'll be off for vacation in San Francisco for a few days with family and friends. Happy holidays everyone!

Very interesting. Handheld ?, 5 second time delay while controlling the zoom...a kaleidoscopic result. Keep up with the descriptions when possible. They are useful.

@étranger: It was definitely a tripod. I think I drink too much coffee and smoke too many cigarettes to have a steady hand anymore. I had two kinds of shots, one starting from a wide angle than slowly zooming in and the exact opposite for the second shot that yield two different effects. Zooming out from the fire truck would give you a more prominent ghost of the apartment building that fills up the view while zooming in would show a more distinct view of the building from a wide angle ... or was it the other way around? I also think that how distinct the ghost of the building is dependent upon the exposure before you start zooming in. Hope this helps!
